The Role of Platform
Platform Trust supports a network of organisations that believe that a modern mental health system requires a strong community based supports for people with mental illness and addictions. We encourage sector collaboration, provide a contact point for nationwide feedback on issues relating to mental health and addiction non government sector and advocate for

A flourishing, innovative, well connected community based mental health and addictions service sector that makes a difference in the lives of individuals and communities.
MISSION
To connect, develop and promote a resilient and cohesive community mental health and addictions service sector.
Platform's work is driven by the belief that:
Non-government organisations have a critical role in contemporary health and social service systems.
Individuals and communities flourish when the experience of many is harnessed.
Membership
Members are essential for the development, legitimacy and independence of Platform. Our role is to nationally raise issues that impact on our members' ability to provide services, advocate for greater resources funding and improved delivery mechanisms for the wide community mental health and addition services.
We also work in alliance with wider networks in the community sector where there is common ground or similar purpose; these may be formal groupings, associations or informal networks.
Strategic Plan 2009
Platforms Strategic Plan has been agreed by the Trustees and has been developed in the context of an economic downturn when the emphasis will shift to consolidation and value for money.
It has 5 key outcomes:

Platform is grateful for grants recieved from:
New Zealand Lotteries Grants Board which contribute to telephone costs, printing and stationery and regional networking
