National Service Framework
This project commenced in 2007 and aims to review, revise and develop nationwide service specifications for the Mental Health and Addictions sector, within an established framework.
The service specifications for Adult Mental Health, Infant Child, Adolescent and Youth, Eating Disorders, Services Providing Consumer Leadership - have been signed off and complete with new purchase unit codes, and are now available for new purchases.
There will be a two to three year transition for current NGO services to move to the new service specifications. DHBs are conducting their own mapping process that involves mapping their current services against the revised nationwide service specifications. DHBs are initiating their own transitional plans with a two to three year timeframe.
DHB Provider Arm services will move to the new service specifications and Purchase Unit Codes from 1 July 2010.
