Programme for the Integration of Mental Health Data - PRIMHD
PRIMHD is the project to oversee the consolidation of previous data collections that have mainly been based on contributions from District Health Board service providers.
It is the intention of the Crown that all mental health and addiction providers will eventually report data to the national collection.
From a potential group of about 360 contracted NGOs there are currently three organisations that report to the national mental health information collection (MHINC) electronically and twenty nine that report using a paper based form. Therefore very little NGO service activity is captured at a national level.
To engage and encourage NGO participation with the PRIMHD programme a NGO advisory group was established to work in partnership with the Ministry of Health.
A key milestone has been the NGO Strategy and Approach document that describes the developmental changes that will need to occur to enable the NGO sector to collect and report service activity to a national mental health information system.
More information about the PRIMHD programme is available from The New Zealand Health Information Service PRIMHD programme.
