Inclusive Workplaces

I haven't told them, they haven't asked: the   employment experiences of people with experience of mental illness was published in 2007 by the Mental Health Foundation. The research concludes that people with experience of mental illness can and should be actively encouraged to work, and that where employers do not discriminate, the effect of mental illness on a person’s employment is usually minimal.

The EEO Trust conducted an online survey for people with a disability and used this other research they had gathered to produce on line tool kits that assist employers to understand how easy it is to employ people with disabilites.

Work In Practice is a booklet published by Platform that provides a summary of  research and best practice examples and experiences of organisations who are developing some of New Zealand's innovative employment projects. Work in Practice is available in booklet form by contacting us on admin "at" platform.org.nz or in PDF format on our Publications page.
