Platform Members' Day

14 Dec 2023 by Platform Trust

Registrations for the Platform Members’ Day being held in Wellington on Thursday 21 March, 2024, are now open.

The theme of the day is Realising our opportunities, obligations and potential.  This is based on He Ara Oranga – recommendation 34 to engage in a national discussion to reconsider beliefs, evidence, and attitudes about mental health and risk. Additionally, there will be a focus on competing duties to provide care and support and diverging legal obligations like health and safety. He Arotake ngā Tūraru Reviewing risk: A discussion paper will set the scene for the day.

The day will be an opportunity to:

  • Discuss how we can reframe risk within the mental health and addiction sector and keep services accountable without blame.
  • Share ideas about what collectively can be acted upon within the mental health and addiction system to improve person-centered and human-rights based care.
  • Engage on wider issues occurring within the health and social sector.
  • Workshop on innovative ideas and solutions with inspiring current and future leaders.
  • Network and build relationships with others.
